SPEECHES

  • Perspective: A Personal Story:  Nicholas Irving was the most unlikely of candidates to become one of the greatest snipers in Army Ranger history. The first African American to serve as a sniper in his battalion, Irving famously became known as “The Reaper” by the end of his active service, tallying an astounding 33 kills as a master sniper in addition to setting records for enemy kills on a single deployment. In this speech, he provides an inside look at what those in the special operations community go through, as well as some background on his life pre- and post-military service.
  • Post-Military Life as an Entrepreneur:  Despite his success in the military, Nicholas Irving felt like he had hit rock bottom once he returned to the United States. He overcame his struggles by working hard and ended up starting two successful companies, one of which is his training company HardShoot©, available to military, law enforcement, civilians, and contractors. In this speech, Irving discusses the ways he was able to reinvent himself as an entrepreneur and the success he's experienced.

Testimonials

Praise for THE REAPER:

“A breathless, tension-filled account…Brozek gives Irving’s story shape, heart, and context as he helps convey Irving’s mixed emotions about his role in combat. But the real craft is in the book’s artful depictions of battle. It’s tough stuff, but Irving is a humble and humane narrator. What could have come across as a shallow exercise in chest-thumping is much more. Hawks and doves alike would so well to spend time with Irving to learn what it’s like to be a soldier ion today’s military.”
-Publishers Weekly

“A great look through the scope of what it’s like to be a sniper in battle and home. The Reaper is a hell of a book.”
-Gunnery Sgt. Jack Coughlin, USMC (Ret), top0ranked Marine sniper and author of the New York Times bestseller Shooter and the New York Times bestselling series of sniper novels

“I am amazed by the parallel between Nick’s life and my own. I am also deeply humbled and appreciative that we still produce men like this. I would be on his team any day. The Reaper is the kind of book that you have to live to write – and it’s more exciting than any thriller could be.”
-Howard Wasdin, Navy SEAL and New York Times bestselling author of SEAL Team Six

“Nick Irving has a story to tell that every American should hear. This captivating journey is about much more than just getting your hands dirty for Uncle Sam…It’s about what it means to be an American in this necessary battle against fundamental terrorism.”
-Mike Ritland, Navy SEAL and New York Times bestselling author of Trident K 9 Warriors and Navy SEAL Dogs

“If Navy SEAL Chris Kyle – America’s deadliest sniper ever – was the Killer Man, Army Ranger Nick “Reaper” Irving was the Killer Man’s Son, doing the killing with Dirty Diana till the killer man comes. The Reaper is raw, unforgiving, and unapologetic, placing the reader inside the sniper’s hide, trigger slacked, and cross hairs ready, capturing the moments before the body count reached thirty-three.”
-Dalton Fury, former Delta Force Commander and New York Times bestselling author of Kill Bin Laden and Full Assault Mode

“Nick Irving’s story is proof that the Army’s 75th Ranger Regiment is carrying their share of the load in the fight against global terrorism. He is also one of the most accomplished snipers in the US military. If you want to see the war through the precision of a sniper’s scope then read The Reaper.”
-Brandon Webb, former Navy SEAL, editor of SOFREP.com, and author of the New York Times bestseller, The Red Circle
